Back in April, I got an itch to create something(else) and overhaul our make-shift dressing room/office. At first I wanted to go for an industrial looking shelf with metal piping to match my desk. So David took my scribble scratch sketch and made these plans. Thanks, babe! Naturally, we thought this mock up was fitting. ————————>>>>>>
After purchasing all the supplies and psyching ourselves up for another DIY adventure, we realized what an undertaking making this shelf would be. David and I both thought if we were going to do something like this again it might as well be worth our while to do a quality job and really challenge ourselves.
Coupled with the fact that David wants nothing more to do with metal piping ever again, we decided to up the anty and build a live edge shelving unit with a matching desk.
So I made new plans and set forth on what would be a summer-long DIY project. Little did I know, that soon after we decided on these plans, shit was about to get REAL!
These little babies just became available for pre-order and guess who just put an order in? That’s right – SO excited!! Every so often I see something that makes me feel like a kid again and these Balancing Blocks are a great adult toy for design enthusiasts. I also needed an excuse to order something from Areaware. I’m so looking forward to adding these to my collection. Just waiting for October 15th………
